Student Health Services
Online Handbook
The primary goal of the Richmond Community Schools Health Services is protecting the health and well-being of all children. This handbook has been prepared as a guide for Richmond Community Schools personnel and a unification of procedures throughout the corporation. Fortunately, most injuries and illnesses that occur at school are minor.
However, more serious types of injuries and illnesses do occur, and trained personnel are prepared to take timely and appropriate action. Parents are basically responsible for selecting and providing medical care. However, when parents cannot be contacted, the school acts "en loco parentis" to the best of its ability and for the best interest of the student.

Head Lice Hotline Now Available
TO: All School Nurses, Teachers, School Administrators and Parents
A new service has been established to help parents deal with the problem of Head Lice. The volunteers have already been through the head lice problem and have successfully eradicated head lice and nits from their lives. They are caring individuals who have kindly volunteered a few hours per week to talk to people on the phone about head lice. They are trained on how to help people with head lice over the phone.
The service is provided by volunteers at the non-profit website: http://www.HeadLiceHotline.org.
